My Weekend (March 23-25) Photos and Video cast
On Friday March 23
I went Union Square to experience the urban lifestyle of NYC. Union Square is one of my favorite hangout places in the city, which is diverse and moving place too. There was Occupy Wall Street protest going on. So I spend some time roaming around the park and took some pictures, spoke with protesters and capture their activities. Interestingly, some protesters were meditating in front of the Hindu Goddess statues, they light the incense and play bell and Sankha,(Sankha, is a conch shell of ritual and religious importance in Hinduism and Buddhism. It is the shell of a large predatory sea snail -From Wikipedia)
Here is some video conversation and the photo of the event.
Then, later in the evening I went to reading at New York University.I had an opportunity to participate in ‘Poem as World/World as Poem’Reading at New York University. Pulitzer Prize winner Natasha Trethewey and distinguised poet Yuyutsu RD Sharma read their fresh work at the event.
Natasha Trethewey’s fourth collection of poetry, “Thrall,” is forthcoming from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt in Fall 2012. andYuyutsu Ram Dass Sharma is the author of many books, including “Nepal Trilogy” (Epsilonmedia, Karlsruhe, Germany, 2011) and “Milarepa’s Bones, Helambu” (Nirala Publication)
Please watch or listen some poems of the events.
Saturday, March 24th
I went to see the concert of Tom Wopat, at Queens Theatre, Flushing Meadows Park. I simply loved Tom Wopat country and soothing music. He was awesome.
I got a complementary ticket for the show from Queens Theatre. So I want to Thank Queens Theatre for their generosity.
I hope you had also fruitful time too.
Hope to share and see you next weekend.
